Duos

A duo is the answer when the room needs live music but doesn't have space for a band or a reason for a DJ.

A singer and guitarist performing together in a bar.
Why book it

What booking a duo does for your night

It makes a room feel staffed rather than quiet. Two players fill a bar in a way one doesn't. There's a voice and something behind it, without the volume or the footprint that makes conversation hard work.

It covers the awkward parts of an evening. Drinks receptions, the gap between a meal and a band, the first hour when only half your guests have arrived. A duo holds those stretches at a level people can still talk over, which is exactly when a full band would be wrong.

It's the format that fits where nothing else will. A corner, a bay window, the end of a bar. Twenty minutes to set up, house sound in most rooms, and no stage, so you're not losing covers to make space for the entertainment.

The roster

More than one duo

Guitar and vocal is the most common pairing, but it isn't the only one, and the differences matter more than they sound. A duo that's right for a drinks reception in a bright hotel foyer is a different booking to one holding a late bar on a Saturday.

We keep a range across instruments, material and volume, so we can put forward the pairing that suits the hour you're covering rather than the one that happens to be free. If you're covering several hours, it's often two different acts rather than one stretched across the evening.

The versions

What you can book

  • Guitar and vocal

The most common. Fits anywhere, suits almost any room.

  • Keys and vocal

Warmer for dinner service and hotel lounges.

  • Acoustic pair

Two players, harmonies, no backing tracks.

  • Duo into DJ

Live through the early evening, DJ takes the later hours.

The practical bit

What it needs from your room

Space
Roughly the footprint of a two-top table.
Power
Two standard sockets.
Sound
Own compact PA, or house sound where you have it.
Set-up
About twenty minutes, and quiet to pack down.

Every quote names the act and a cover act of the same format and fee, agreed before the contract is signed.
