Live bands

A band is the booking people remember and talk about afterwards. It's also the one with the most that can go wrong on the day, which is where the paperwork matters.

Why book it

What booking a band does for your night

It gives the night a centre. People face the same direction, they know when the main event is, and the room fills at a predictable time rather than drifting. For a wedding or a corporate night, that structure is half of what you're paying for.

It changes what people expect of the evening. A band signals that the night is an occasion. Guests dress differently, stay later and drink differently than they do for a DJ. If you're charging a ticket or a per-head rate, a band is usually what justifies it.

It's the booking that needs the most from your room, and we'd rather tell you that up front. Stage footprint, power, load-in access and a sound limit if you have one. We send all of that with the quote, so your duty manager isn't finding out about it at five o'clock on the day.

The roster

More than one band

We hold a roster of bands rather than a house band, sized from four pieces up. That matters because a function room that seats a hundred and twenty and a marquee for three hundred need different bookings, and a band that's perfect in one will either be swallowed or overwhelming in the other.

Tell us the room, the guest count and the kind of night it is, and we'll shortlist the ones that fit with the stage footprint and power requirements attached. If your date is already gone with your first choice, there's a second and a third who'll do the same job.

The versions

What you can book

  • Four-piece

Drums, bass, guitar and vocal. The standard function set-up.

  • Six to eight piece

Adds keys, brass or a second vocal for bigger rooms.

  • Band plus DJ

The band does the peak, a DJ carries either side of it.

  • Showband format

Longer sets, wider material, built for a full evening.

The practical bit

What it needs from your room

Space
Stage or clear floor area, footprint confirmed per band with the quote.
Power
Confirmed per band. Most function rooms are already adequate.
Sound
Some bands carry their own PA; some need house. Stated before you book.
Get-in
Load-in time and access requirements sent with the quote.

Every quote names the act and a cover act of the same format and fee, agreed before the contract is signed.
